Curare-OD

The CURARE is an overdrive pedal, inspired by the legendary ELECTRA DISTORTION. To create the hard clipping distortion, a pair of germanium diodes are used. The sound could best be described as a good old vintage Marshall Plexi and reacts to the picking dynamics of the player. Particularly when using the VOLUME knob on the guitar, you can cover a lot of ground and get a very wide range of sounds from virtually clean boost to a fat vintage overdrive sound. The pedal has only one control knob for DRIVE, it controls the output level of the distortion. As you turn it there is a slight and authentic crackle, which is caused by the writing as you change the bias “on the fly”. Inside the pedal is a trimmer pot so you can set the pedal for a “maximum distortion level“.

It is powered from a standard 9-volt power supply (9-10 V,30-500 mA, 2.1mm center negative adapter). Of course, true bypass switching, reverse polarity protection, red status LED and the use of quality components (alpha switch, amphenol connectors, alpha potentiometers, wima, epcos, samwha, nichicon, elna capacitors, matching wiring, etc.).
