LOLLIPOP-OD
The LOLLIPOP from Red Ant is a dirty boost inspired by the iconic UNIVOX UNI-DRIVE UD-50. This now very rare effect had very interesting controls. The DRIVE (input level) control had a six-position switch, and the overall volume used two potentiometers. One was used to preset the lowest volume level, the other, like a classic volume pedal, was used to add another level. Quite unusually, there was no bypass of any kind!!! This largely limited its use practically. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin used it extensively. and this was perhaps the thing that made it most famous. The sound is harmonically rich, very dynamic and at higher gain levels it takes on a "fuzz-like" character. The LOLLIPOP uses the original circuit with a slight modification, consisting in a reduction of the lower EQ band. The control has been completely redesigned to meet today's requirements. It is equipped with TRUE BYPASS and the classic DRIVE and LEVEL controls.
It is powered from a standard 9-volt power supply (9-10 V,30-500 mA, 2.1mm center negative adapter). Of course, true bypass switching, reverse polarity protection, red status LED and the use of quality components (alpha switch, amphenol connectors, alpha potentiometers, wima, epcos, samwha, nichicon, elna capacitors, matching wiring, etc.).
