The TABASCO from Red Ant, is inspired by the legendary DOD 250 and MXR Distortion+ and the modifications by Brian Wampler (Wampler pedals). The modifications relate to a different design of the distortion control (the DRIVE potentiometer has a feedback loop integrated into the circuit, similar to the Ibanez Tube Screamer etc). In addition, it has slightly more bass response, an additional HI-CUT tone control and the limiting diodes were reconfigured from the original 2×GE to 2 SI+GE, making the resulting sound more open.The pedal retains its original character with the modifications described above, making it more versatile.

It is powered from a standard 9-volt power supply (9-10 V,30-500 mA, 2.1mm center negative adapter). Of course, true bypass switching, reverse polarity protection, red status LED and the use of quality components (alpha switch, amphenol connectors, alpha potentiometers, wima, epcos, samwha, nichicon, elna capacitors, matching wiring, etc.).
