Ritchie-Fuzz

The RITCHIE from Red Ant is inspired by an absolute classic pedal, the FUZZ FACE, featuring a circuit with 2 silicon measured and matched BC 183 transistors, resistors and capacitorsYou therefore get the classic tone associated with this relatively simple circuit. The mystery behind such classic fuzz pedals that have a similar topology lies primarily in the precise selection of the components used, not only the transistors. I'd like to stop here for a moment. The silicon) version of the FUZZ FACE featured many different types of transistors during its production (the BC183, BC130, BC108, BC109, BC209, BC239 etc). The BC183 sounds the most musical to me personally, an opinion shared by Eric Johnson. There are three controls, BIAS with input sensitivity, FUZZ and VOLUME. The internal trimmer is used for biasing a second transistor. This pedal is very responsive to the guitar’s VOLUME knob,as you can simply clean up by rolling it back.

It is powered from a standard 9-volt power supply (9-10 V,30-500 mA, 2.1mm center negative adapter). Of course, true bypass switching, reverse polarity protection, red status LED and the use of quality components (alpha switch, amphenol connectors, alpha potentiometers, wima, epcos, samwha, nichicon, elna capacitors, matching wiring, etc.).
